What to Do When Your iPhone Says “No Backup Available
If your iPhone is acting up and saying that there’s no available backup, it’s probably because you can’t find one. It could also be because you’re trying to restore from an incompatible backup. But if your phone keeps saying no and no, check your network settings.
If you have a Wi-Fi network, make sure it’s turned on, or rejoin the Wi-Fi network you were using. Once you’re connected, you can open iTunes and check the backup status for your device. You can also check your iCloud settings to see if you have an iCloud backup on a different device. You can’t set up a backup from scratch, but you can downgrade from a more recent version of iOS. From there, you can restore from an older backup.
Turn on your iPhone
If your iphone attempting data recovery is telling you that it cannot find a backup, there’s a simple fix. You may have to turn on your device and let it activate the network. Once your device is active, you can open iTunes and check the status of your backup. If you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection, make sure you rejoin the Wi-Fi network before trying to restore from iCloud. If iTunes says Touch ID isn’t enabled for this device, disable it, which will allow you to proceed with setting up a new backup. After initiating a new backup with iTunes and iCloud, go back and enable Touch ID as needed.
Check your iCloud settings
If you have iCloud, check your iCloud settings to see if you’ve set up a backup on another device. You can also downgrade from a more recent version of iOS and then restore from an older backup.
Make sure your Wi-Fi network is enabled
If you’re having problems restoring your iPhone because it’s saying that there’s no available backup, make sure your Wi-Fi network is enabled. If you have a Wi-Fi network, make sure it’s turned on or rejoin the Wi-Fi network you were using. Once you’re connected to the network, open iTunes and check the backup status for your device. You can also check your iCloud settings to see if there are any backups on another device. You can’t set up a backup from scratch but can downgrade from a more recent version of iOS and then restore from an older backup.
Check your iTunes backups
If you have a Wi-Fi network, make sure it’s turned on. Once you’re connected, open iTunes and check the backup status for your device. You’ll also want to check your iCloud settings to see if you have an iCloud backup on a different device.

If you have a Wi-Fi network, make sure it’s turned on or rejoining the Wi-Fi network you were using, then open iTunes and check the backup status for your device or checking iCloud settings to see if you have an iCloud backup on a different device. If that doesn’t work, downgrade from a more recent version of iOS and restore from an older backup.
Try restoring from a different device
Restoring from a different device is another option. Another device means another backup, and sometimes those backups are older than the current one. If you’re restoring from an iCloud backup, make sure it’s on a different device than the one with the problem. You can also try a Wi-Fi network. If that doesn’t work, there are two other options to try: restore from iTunes or downgrade to an older version of iOS and then restore from an older backup.
Downgrade to an older version of iOS
You can’t set up a new backup from scratch, but you can downgrade your iOS to an older version. You just need to download the older version of iOS on your computer and then plug in your phone. Follow the prompts and click Install. Once it’s done installing, follow the prompts to restore from a backup. If you don’t see any backups, you can try one of two things:
1) Restore from an iCloud backup on another device with the same Apple ID
2) Restore from iTunes backup
If there is no iCloud or iTunes backup, you may have to erase all data and settings and start from scratch. This will erase everything on your device and leave it as if it were brand new.
Restore from an older backup
If you’re experiencing a backup issue and your iPhone is not recognizing any backups, try restoring from an older backup. To downgrade from a more recent version of iOS to an earlier version, you’ll need to turn off Find My iPhone on the device and then restore from a backup on the device. To do so, follow these steps:
Apple’s iCloud service can be used to back up an iPhone or other Apple device to the cloud. These backups are stored in iCloud for easy access at any time. But in order to use iCloud as a backup, you have to have some type of internet connection. The problem is that sometimes this internet connection goes down, especially if your power goes out or you’re traveling or your cellular data is capped. If you need a backup but don’t have one available because of a lack of internet connectivity, there are a few ways that you can get around this problem.
